Your trainer Jill Wigmore-Welsh MSc MBASEM, an experienced HPC Physiotherapist has over 30 years clinical experience in massage. Her graduate training included a 6 months massage course, theory and practical exam. Her career has included 18 years experience working with Elite Athletes, British Judo Squads & British Rowing Squads, travelling in the UK and abroad. Jill is only UK HPC Physiotherapist specialist in the Feldenkrais & Bones for Life Bodywork Method’s additionally a Trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming.
Through accelerated learning techniques, you quickly revise all the physiological effects of soft tissue work. The contraindications, client care, hygiene, and then swiftly move to learn all the massage strokes of Effleurage, Stroking, Petrissage, Tapotement & Frictions. Discover the correct effleurage paths for lymphatic drainage.In a small group, with close supervision, there is time discover how to get in the groove, and learn to massage and move without injuring your back, hands, or shoulders
Course Outline
Day One: Hygiene, client assessment, contraindications, physiological effects, self preparation, 35 soft tissue manipulations, self care, postural alignment utilising Feldenkrais Bodywork, NLP Processes Self Awareness, Mindfullness, effleurage paths, applications in a body sequence.
Day Two: Everything is brought together and you practice giving a complete one hour body massage, or short 20 to 30 minute sequences on arms, legs, or back, competently and safely.
HPC graduate Physios can go straight out after these two days and use the techniques with their CSP insurance in clinical practice. Progression to the Sports Diploma gives a QCA qualification, which enables work as a Sports Massage Practitioner.
Students completing this course can work under the supervision of a CSP member as a physio assistant doing massage in a clinic, or progress to the sports course, and gaina QCA qualification to enable membership of the FHT, CMA, SMA, GCMT, get insured and work while studying

We provide:
Adjustable height massage couches, gels, oils, paper towels, teas, coffees, and biscuits. You bring yourself, some towels, and a flat sheet.
This course is essential develop hands on palpatory skills for Physio’s considering Sports, Vetinary, MusculoSkeletal work, within the NHS and privately. The course is open to all HPC registered MCSP Physiotherapists. Physiotherapy Students who have completed year one of their degree, and Masters Degree Students are also welcome.
This two days training is stand alone, and also forms part of the Sports Massage Diploma, accreditation is in process with Active IQ, for QCA approval
